Position with Peace Games: Volunteer Teacher
Years with Peace Games: 1997 - 1999
Peace Games memories: "Senior year I returned to work at the Mason School in Roxbury...That was incredible year - I worked in Maria Costa's class at the school. I find that my teaching style was really influenced by the time I spent with her. That year I fell in love with the idea that I too, could have my own class...I still use her "Criss Cross Apple Sauce" when I want my kids to sit cross-legged on the rug."
What Kate is doing now: After a 3 year stint teaching at the Augusta Mayo Elementary School in Los Angeles (one of the three Peace Games schools in L.A.), Kate has returned to the Boston area. She now attends Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. Good luck Kate!
